Care of accessories

Accessories should always be handled gently, and the appropriate care taken for each kind of material. Without proper precautions, accessories are susceptible to tarnishing, scratches and breakage.

It is best not to sleep, bathe, swim or exercise when wearing your accessories. Chlorine and related chemicals can cause severe discolouration and damage, as well as loosen stones and settings. The use of perfume, cosmetics, hair and body sprays onto accessories can result in excessive wear to materials.

Put on accessories after everything else, so there is less chance of it getting snagged on clothing. Avoid rough use of all accessories to ensure it maintains its appearance.

Store these pieces in separate compartments (ideally in an airtight box) or pouches when they are not worn and clean them occasionally with jewellery cleaning cloths. Keep accessories in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight.
